Foundation for Upland Police Officer Assistance



This corporation is a nonprofit public benefit corporation and is not organized for the private gain of any person. This corporation is organized under the Nonprofit Public Benefit Law of the State of California exclusively for charitable or public purposes. The general purpose of this corporation is to have and exercise all rights and powers conferred on nonprofit corporations under the laws of California, provided that this corporation shall not, except to an insubstantial degree, engage in any activities or exercise any powers that are not in furtherance of the primary purposes of this corporation.


The specific public and charitable purposes for which the corporation is to provide support to Upland Police Department sworn officers and their family members in the case of an officer’s death, injury, or catastrophic illness. Specifically, the Foundation for Upland Police Officers Assistance will aid as needed and approved by the Board of Directors in the following:


·         Medical care and treatment of the officer’s injury or catastrophic illness

·         Support immediate family members during financial hardship who are directly involved in the care and treatment of the officer’s illness or injury

·         Expenses incurred as a result of the officer’s death

·         Financial hardship due to a family medical condition that inhibits the officer’s ability to serve and protect the citizens of the City of Upland
